About Valerie Meakin

As a life coach, I would help you PUT YOUR MIND TO leaning into life, realising your potential, setting goals and then walking with you through the exciting journey of self discovery and reaching for your dreams.
I am the mother of four adult men. I have braved the seas of motherhood through childhood and teenage years to being a mother-in-law and granny. Lots of life experience
Before coming into coaching, I spent many years working in the beauty as a self-employed skin care specialist and so felt I was coaching long before I moved into this field. Listening is one of my greatest skills, developed over years as a therapist and then honed and sharpened as a coach. I am especially interested in helping people to overcome those crazy things that hold us and keep us from reaching our full potential.
Due to recent developments in my own life, I am also very interested in helping those who have someone close to them diagnosed with a life changing disease like Alzheimer’s. I know that feeling of having your life, dreams and hopes thrown in a bottle and given a good shake, the confusion of not knowing what to do, where to look for help and the being all at sea with having to keep it all together while you sort things yet wanting to scream and shout with frustration. I can coach you through the logistics and legalities, where to look for help and what help you need. I found it very empowering to take charge of what I could do when everything else was going crazy.
Though I really enjoy coaching face to face, I have been very successful coaching long distance over Skype or the phone. So distance doesn’t matter. We can still find that intimate quiet place using the latest technology. I don’t have office space but have found that the library usually has a quiet corner and a lovely peaceful atmosphere that lends well to coaching. My object when I start talking to my client is to create a private bubble around the two of us that keeps the world from intruding for a while.
